Capital Region Water (CRW) is implementing the Riverfront Park GSI Project to capture and manage stormwater runoff to reduce pollution and combined sewer overflows (CSOs) while enhancing one of Harrisburg's most visited public parks. The project is part of CRW's City Beautiful H2O program to achieve its regulatorily mandated pollution reduction and clean water goals.
The project targets an area of the park near the intersection of Front Street and Washington Street, just north of the Harrisburg University concert space. The project location has the potential to manage millions of gallons of stormwater runoff from up to 20 acres of impervious surface in and near the park, including large portions of downtown Harrisburg.
CRW is seeking your input for the Riverfront Park GSI Project to help shape its design and implementation. Your feedback will be important in creating a project that incorporates existing and desired park uses.
